Seviyan is a pure Indian dish as it is made up of wheat flour generally in the summer season. It is the mandatory dish in every Maharashtrian Family.
According to the different names we have different methods to prepare the Masala Seviyan. It is one of the most popular and healthy Indian breakfasts. Without further delay, let's dive in.
Masala Seviyan Preparation

Masala Seviyan is a very easy recipe and consists of common ingredients such as:
- 1 Chopped Onion
- 1 Chopped Tomato
- 2 Green Chillies(According to your choice)
- 3-2 Curry Leaves
- Red Chilly Powder(1 T.S.)
- Turmeric Powder/Haldi(1 T.S.)
- Salt (According to taste)
- Coriander Leaves
- Pinch of Sugar
- Lemon/Lemon Juice
- After collecting all ingredients, let's get started.
Let's Start to Make Our Seviyan
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onions and green chili and sauté until the onions turn translucent.
- Add the chopped mixed vegetables and stir-fry for a couple of minutes.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and stir-fry for a minute.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to taste. Mix well.
- Add the vermicelli noodles and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes or until the noodles turn slightly golden brown.
- Add 2 cups of water and mix well. Bring to a boil.
- Cover the pan with a lid and let the noodles cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes or until they are soft and cooked through.
- Once the noodles are cooked, turn off the heat and let the pan sit covered for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges.

Step By Step Recipe with Picture
Step 1 - Heat the pan and a few drops of Oil. Add cumin and mustard seed to it. Also, add green chilly.
Step 2 - Add one chopped onion and stir until turns golden brown.
Step 3 - Add one chopped tomato and let them cook for 5-7 min.
Step 4 - Boil a glass of water.
Step 5 - After the tomato is cooked well, add red chilly powder(Laal Mirch powder), turmeric powder(Haldi), and salt.
Step 6 - Add a pinch of sugar to it.
Step 7 - It is a bonus point. If you are a soya sauce lover like me then, add a few drops of soya sauce. It provides great texture to Seviyan.
Step 8 - Add Seviyan and mix it well.
Step 9 - Add hot water according to the mixture and cook it for 10-15 min.
Step 10 - Take the Seviyan into a plate add, garnish with coriander leaves and lemon, and serve it.
